Big White is the new star of Canadian skiing. It has the best snowfall record in Canada in recent seasons. Half of its acreage is open bowls and glades while the remainder is comprised of groomed cruising pistes. It’s a very convenient resort with everything clustered around the lifts. The majority of the area is intermediate but the Cliff Bowl is an awesome new challenge for advanced skiers. Beginners will love the collection of nursery slopes and easy runs that Big White offers.
Flights to its local airport (short transfers) Kelowna are expensive but everything else is amazingly inexpensive and great value. If you’re worried the ski area won’t be big enough for you if you stay 10 days or so, why not let us arrange a few days in neighbouring Silver Star or Sun Peaks. These resorts are in a sheltered valley which doesn’t suffer the low temperatures of some. YOU GET POWDER TO THE KNEES WITHOUT THE DEEP FREEZE.
It can be criticised for having a lot of wintry weather and is nicknamed as "Big White Out", but you can't have it both ways - it can't snow out of a blue sky! |
